Question
I have read the information on your website about the Renaissance progesterone cream product. You have thoroughly covered many aspects of estrogen dominance. I have suspected that perhaps my situation is a lack of adequate progesterone. You have discussed the early onset of peri-menopause. However, you have not addressed the erratic nature of the perimenopause or how to best use the cream in this situation. Here's my story: I have been experiences less predictable menstruation cycles for a while, and was not surprised by the variations in cycle length or flow variations from light over about the normal number of days to heavy for a short period of time, and so forth. However, in the summer I had a 2 month interval between menses. Then followed a 2
1/2 week time of very light (and annoying) flow. THEN came the downpour, I almost went to the hospital but just monitored the flow and kept my husband aware (in case I passed
out!... we were in a country where I wasn't sure I wanted to have a D&C, and that's probably what they would have done.) The flow stopped abruptly (but I believe that was a supernatural
occurrence). Well, 2 more months of nothing, then I'm at about 3
1/2 weeks of flow.... sort of a sine wave of quantity, never really heavy, nearly stops, then revs back up again.
How would I know how to use the cream in this situation? Just use it 3x/day for a while and see what happens? After my
"flood" episode, I started using Black Cohosh and Soy regularly. After about 2 weeks of flow or so, I suspended the BC&S thinking maybe that was prolonging the flow
- that the estrogen levels were not dropping off appropriately.

Answer
Laura,
Even during a woman's prime child-bearing years, leading up to ovulation estrogen levels do not rise to the estrogen spike on a straight upward projection. Rather, estrogen levels flutter up and down on their way to the estrogen spike. Kind of like 2 steps forward and 1 reverse. Progesterone levels are more constant, but even progesterone levels can vary within an hour and enough to cause a hormone imbalance.
Estrogen is in plastics, in aluminum cans, in the dash-board and seats of cars. Estrogen dominance is very wide spread among western women. In today's world your estrogen levels are very much affected by conditions and elements our of your control. There is no test or method to accurately predict menstrual flows during the perimenopause stage. Women need to self-dose with progesterone to counter-act the negative effects of estrogen.
Progesterone cream should be used in a preventive manner. Apply the cream every day, don't wait until you begin to suffer the consequences of estrogen dominance. By raising your progesterone levels you will prevent minor episodes of unwanted or irregular blood flow and minor unwanted symptoms. Regular application of progesterone cream will also delay and decrease the effects of more serious episodes of irregular menstrual bleeding.
We recommend applying Renaissance three times a day, a heavier dose at night as progesterone helps to induce
sleep. When greater than or totally unexpected blood flows onset, immediately increase the dosage and
frequency of progesterone cream. A single pump of the Renaissance dispenser releases approximately 38-40 mg. of progesterone. Don't be shy about applying a second pump at the same time, always be careful to apply to an appropriate but different area of the body. Try to remember, better yet, write down the symptoms and
corresponding effect a given application of progesterone cream had on the blood flow and your symptoms. This is the only way you can accurately predict within a given margin the dosage of progesterone you need relative to the blood flow and symptoms you are experiencing.

Question
I am suffering severe
depression. Hysterectomy in 1982. Have been off and
on antidepressants with no avail. Had all the symptoms of
progesterone deficiency before hysterectomy. Unable to
tolerate progesterone suppositories. What does this cream do
that other creams don't?
Also, could use a good all
purpose vitamin. Skin bruises easily. Hair thin and
dry. Thyroid issues. Holding off surgery.
Osteopenia. If there is ANYTHING your product can do to help.
How long does it take to help? Will it help the
depression?
Please tell me you aren't a
scam. I've already been hospitalized several times for the
depression and had medications forced on me. I need
something that will actually help.

Answer
Christi,
Health Specialties has been
in business since 1986 and we have C schedule drug license. We
distribute progesterone powder and compounding supplies to
pharmacies.
Progesterone in and of
itself is not for depression. If you were on birth control pills
for any period of time and/or HRT you may be suffering from
estrogen dominance. Estrogen dominance will cause an on-set of a
cluster of symptoms the totality of which often causes mood
swings, crying for no reason, and insomnia. This collection of
unwanted symptoms leads to a general feeling of depression.
To counter-act the estrogen
build-up in your body we would recommend you dose heavily with
Renaissance progesterone cream 3 times a day, with a very heavy
dose at night.
Osteopenia is a warning sign
not to be taken lightly. The greatest single threat to the
health of any woman over 50 and/or menopausal women is
osteoporosis. GynoFem contains the proper forms of calcium and
magnesium recommended by the National Institute of Health for
the prevention of osteoporosis.
The recommended daily dosage
of GynoFem provides you with 150% of the RDA. Magnesium is also
the best mineral or vitamin you can take to calm your nerves.
Dry and thinning hair, and especially bruising easily are sure
signs of vitamin K deficiency. GynoFem contains sufficient
vitamin K to prevent bruising and help restore hair loss.
In your case we would
recommend taking progesterone and GynoFem together. You will
probably not feel any real improvement for approximately 2
weeks.
